Our centre has been bustling with activity as we complete various projects and prepare for the festive season. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
The repainting of the centre has been progressing well and is bringing a fresh, polished look to the building. Unfortunately, the rain over the past few weeks has set us back a couple of days, but we’re getting back on track.
During these “wet days,” we made good use of our time by removing the old carpeting in the Crew dining room and repainting the walls and floor. Additionally, the bathrooms in the ladies’ hostel, Clayton, have been thoroughly scraped down and freshly repainted.
With the arrival of summer, our gardens have come to life, looking more spectacular than ever. This vibrant setting has added an extra touch of joy and warmth for our residents.
We’re thrilled to share that the centre’s hostels have reached 100% occupancy—a milestone we haven’t seen in many years. It’s a remarkable achievement, and we feel truly blessed to welcome so many residents into our community.
Our residents are hard at work preparing for the much-anticipated end-of-year Christmas Carols Concert, scheduled for 5 December 2024. We’ll be sharing more details as the date approaches, so stay tuned!
Today, our residents enjoyed a delightful treat from the Vincent Methodist Church, who visited with cool drinks and a delicious variety of snacks. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Norma and her wonderful group for this thoughtful gesture. It truly brightened everyone’s day.
Just a reminder, the work centre will be closed from 13 December 2024 and will reopen on 13 January 2025.
Thank you all for your support and contributions during this busy season. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates soon!
