The McClelland Cycle Tour, or McClelland 1000, started as a fundraising initiative to support the McClelland Adult Centre, a registered nonprofit organisation. This year, from 22 February to 6 March 2025, three cyclists will ride 1,265 km from East London to Cape Town to raise funds for a solar energy system, ensuring the Centre’s long-term sustainability.
