As the year draws to a close, things remain as busy as ever at McClelland Adult Centre. Our residents are hard at work preparing for two exciting upcoming events: the Christmas Concert on 4 December 2025 and Market Day on 1 November 2025. The atmosphere around the centre is full of energy and anticipation as everyone contributes their talents and efforts to make these occasions a success.
We are delighted to share that we have launched a Subsistence Project with the generous support of Husqvarna South Africa.
A special thank-you goes to Riaan Cromhout, Regional Manager for the Eastern Cape, who has spent the past few days at the centre assisting us with the groundwork for this initiative.
Riaan kindly arranged a donation of potato seeds for McClelland and provided all the equipment needed to prepare the soil for planting. Under his guidance, our residents have already planted over 300 potatoes, and we have prepared two additional lanes for future planting.
This project has not only given our residents valuable hands-on experience but also a true sense of pride and ownership. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Riaan and the Husqvarna team for their continued support and generosity.
We are very proud to celebrate Allan Lees, who recently won the Liars Cup at the Kei Mouth Golf Club. This is an excellent achievement and a testament to Allan’s dedication and skill.
Well done, Allan, we are all incredibly proud of you!
