The centre has been an absolute hive of activity over the past month! As you may have noticed, we have launched a number of major fundraising initiatives designed to help bridge the operational deficit we are currently encountering month-to-month.
As winter bites and the warm, sunny days fade, our electricity costs naturally rise. Over the past few months, our electricity account alone has hovered just over R100,000.00, and we are facing the next municipal tariff increase at the end of July. Coupled with the steadily rising cost of food and other direct essential care costs, the centre is truly experiencing a tight financial pinch.
However, we remain deeply proactive. Our management team, committee, and residents are putting our best foot forward and working tirelessly to navigate this challenging season.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated Fundraising Committee for organizing our recent Tin Collection drive on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
Our incredible committee members, their families, friends, and our passionate staff members braved the winter chill to man collection stations at various shopping centres across the greater East London area. To everyone who volunteered their precious time, and to every member of the public who dropped a donation into our tins—thank you. Your generosity keeps our doors open and our residents smiling.
